Branscombe is one of the most charming and picturesque villages in Devon, laying at the heart of both the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site (the only natural world heritage site in the United Kingdom).

As well as these two distinguished awards, there is the simple fact that the views around Branscombe are absolutely stunning at every time of year. Quite apart from the gorgeous beach and surrounding countryside, there are some amazing historic buildings within the village of Branscombe itself. The Norman church is wonderful, as is the unique thatched forge which is still in use.

Branscombe is well sited for exploring the rest of East Devon, the coastal footpath runs west from Branscombe to Sidmouth or east to Beer and Seaton. From Branscombe it is an easy day trip to anywhere in East Devon, Exeter, West Dorset or Torbay.
