Blackbury camp

A wonderland in winter, a haven in summer and AMAZING in spring!

This is a great place for budding photographers.

Nowadays the site is woodland covered in trees but it was once an iron age hill fort. If you know what you’re looking for you may be able to spot the single bank and ditch surrounding an oval area about 6.5 acres in size. Excavations revealed a hut, palisades, trenches, a cooking pit and oven. Many items found here are displayed in Exeter museum.

It’s a great area to ramble through, even on a warm sunny evening. Also, a great place to picnic with friends and family.
