The Hillclimb season at Wiscombe gets underway in April and continues into September, hosting an unrivalled array of racing from single seaters, owners clubs and motorcycles.
Wiscombe House was built in 1820 surrounded in beautiful grounds. It wasn’t until 1953 that it was decided that it would make an idea place for a hill climb and in 1958 the first meeting was staged.
Although there is a variety of car and motorbike racing throughout the year (check out the calendar on their website), my favourite by far is the Vintage Hill climb. Believe me, I’m certainly no petrol head, but living with 3 boys that have a slight obsession with them, I am happy to concede and attend this one. My advice is to wear your wellies, take a picnic and bottle of something bubbly and you’ll fit right in!
